Review: In many aspects far superior to Rhode’s first book. This is coming age adventure swings with adventure. A few logic holes in the big scheme of things in world design and relationship of those that inhabit it. One can debate the weakness of its final act being a bit deus ex maguffinned. There could have been other outs, but they probably would lose the "good" tone and feeling. Still, it is a fantasy in its own world. The character’s likeable as mysteries reveal and compound themselves.  Some scoobeydoing around the map. A bit long because of that. However, the environs beautiful and the connection to place at the forefront making the weaknesses of the plot a bit more lax. The character’s though really sell the thing, their relationships compel the thing emotionally in very good ways. Good writing with purpose. If you’re a wolf lover of fantasy, perhaps check it out.  It is almost exactly what it says on its cover a medieval wolf adventure so you get what you pay for. Werewolf up to debate and definition. Plus gorgeous, gorgeous cover by Aurru.
